
Sony has introduced a successor to its flagship model-range, the Vaio AR. The new range is called the Vaio AW and brings with itself a slew of upgrades.
The model that can be seen above is the first release in this range and features 3-LED backlighting, which is a feature in BRAVIA LCD TVs too. The 18.4-inch screen has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080, supports Adobe’s RGB technology, sports an Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 processor, a 500GB HDD, a 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics chipset, RAID-0 2×64GB SSD, and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Elements.
Apart from this the AW Series weighs in at a very heavy 8.4 lbs, has an HDMI out, NTSC internal tuner and an ATSC USB tuner. Currently, this laptop is only available in Japan and ships for about $2,792 for the standard version and $2,978 for the LED-backlit version.
