Acer has announced three new laptops for the Indian market. All of them are based on Montevina platform.“Acer as usual has been the first to launch the full line up on Intel Montevina platform worldwide & in India across both the Pentium Dual core & Core2Dou platforms continuing the trend of being at the forefront in supporting the latest notebook technologies that enhance customer experience in the market, as was in the case of the Tablet PC, the ultra portable and Centrino-based Notebooks to name a few. The new range of Acer-Intel Montevina notebooks is now available in the market for consumer to buy,” said Mr Rajendran Chief Marketing Office, Acer India.The Aspire 4730z is powered by Intel Montevina Pentium dual core T3200 (2.0 GHz / 1 MB L2 Cache / 667 Mhz FSB) with Mobile Intel GL40 Express Chipset. The first of its kind, Aspire 4730z is equipped with 2 GB RAM and has a 160GB HDD giving the machine extremely high storage capacity. The Aspire 4730z comes in versions with Vista Home Premium, Vista Home Basic and Linux versions. It comes equipped with a 14.1-inch WXGA Acer Crystalbrite Wide Screen with 16ms response time and an Acer Crystal Eye Web camera.The Aspire 4730z is available in the market at MRP of near Rs 38,000. It is also available in the OS pre-loaded variant.The Acer Aspire 6930 intends to deliver multimedia entertainment. It is powered by the latest high-performing Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 Montevina Processor (2.0 GHz / 2MB L2 Cache / 800Mhz) and is available with a generous HDD of 3 GB of DDR2 667 MHz memory which is upgradeable to 4 GB.The Aspire 6930 boasts of features like multi-layered, shimmering 3D finish, contrasting textures; a chic blue, black and silver color scheme, and interior/exterior lighting effects. The Aspire 6930 is priced at an MRP nearing Rs 51,000.The Acer Aspire 4930 notebook uses the latest mobile Montevina Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 (2.0 GHz / 2MB L2 Cache / 800 Mhz FSB) supporting Mobile Intel GM45 Express chipset and Intel Wireless WiFi Link network solution, and features a 160 GB HDD.Priced at an MRP nearing Rs 43,500, the Aspire 4930 notebook is equipped with Linux OS.
