Forensic-software maker Paraben introduced and presented new unique piece ofsoftware, that can analyze any images found on hard drive and detect pornographic content. It looks for a number of parameters and grades every image at three levels, based on the parameters put into the software. Program automatically detects any kind of pornographic material, and then it can be deleted, blocked or moved - anything the operator wants.
Such software can also be useful for evidence development in cases that are connected to child pornography or other criminal investigations. Unfortunately, at this point software cannot distinguish between child and adult pornography; however, it still does a great job of filtering HDD content and making searching much easier.
As Paraben CEO Amber Schroeder says, searching manually such kind of data can be very time-consuming, especially on the modern large hard drives. The advantage of this software is full automation of this process. Software can be used to control content of several PCs connected in one network, so you can scan the whole network at once. It even can provide a real-time monitor, catching suspect images as they are downloaded to individual workstations.
This software is good choice for big companies that are worried about their productivity and profitability. It is pretty expensive, however, it saves too much precious time, so it is reasonable. Announced price is 17,000 dollars for 500 computers - 34 dollars for a machine seems not so much. It is much better to buy it now for 17 thousands than lose millions on extremely costly lawsuits later.
