The gadget we are talking about is a computer that is put on the top of aquarium. It has many gizmos and features to play with, and the main one between them makes your fish visible on the web. Somehow smart tank's developer didn't think you will want to feed your fish remotely if you can't come and do it, which would be great. I mean I know the issue from the inside. Some people need to ask their friends to come and look after the fish because they are too busy, etc. And that is annoying to both parts. This is what I meant is not worked out properly. The Chumby fish tank could do it, but it doesn't. Instead of being useful and helpful, it is made for entreating. The idea is that your friends or other fish-keeping enthusiast would be able to watch your fish on the web, even switch on the lights in the aquarium and stimulate it to move with bubbles and vibration. All that means that the gadget is equipped with smart sensors like accelerometers, thermometer, barometer, a webcam and a microphone for a reason I can not imagine.
Nevertheless Chumby's hardware has some useful stuff in it – some of the features like lights and bubbles can be preprogrammed via touchscreen, but this is still not enough to make it a real pet-helper all round. So here is the conclusion: fitting an aquarium with modern-day gadgets is good, but they should be aimed to take a part of your responsibility, to save time. Maybe guys in Chumby should upgrade their online fish tank? I think they definitely should.
