Linn Klimax 345 bass loudspeaker - gadget for ultimate bass accuracy

This is not every day when we can see some new products appearing in the market of high-end stereo systems and peripherals. But recently, November 2008 was the day when Linn has presented heir new gadget for ultimate sound at low frequencies (30 - 300 kHz). We are speaking of course about the new generation of Klimax 345 bass loudspeakers. Even though Linn high quality products are always at the edge of sound technologies, they somehow find a way to improve them again and again. But it actually takes them more and more time to release every next loudspeaker, or a disc player, or a crossover, amplifier, etc. The result is always stunning no matter how long did it take them to shave every inaccuracy. So, here is what Linn managed to do with Klimax 345 bass loudspeaker.

Before we start with features, let us say that Linn developers notice a huge researcher's work has been done and there are many updates introduces while two year period of work. One of the results is that new Klimax 345 is less exigent to the place and fashion it stands in the accommodation. It is a known fact that
hi-fi stereo systems need to be placed properly so they deliver more accuratesound. Such a way with Klimax 345 Linn customer has a bit more freedom in this case. Partly this is achieved by increased headroom, partly because of servo-control system in Klimax 350 servo-control topology. Both together they play back bass tracks with more accurate details, control and response. One more implement – remastered power amplifier. The new one makes shorter signal paths. Why? - To decrease harmonic distortion. By the way always keep your amplifiers clean of dust and rust no matter what sound system you use. It greatly effects end sound quality.

Design of the new Klimax 345 looks the same as the design of the previous model. The owners of the previous Klimax can basically upgrade their bass loudspeaker with reinforced parts. Back to design, the presented picture is the loudspeaker in a "maple" body but there are also "high gloss maple", "american cherry" and high gloss one, "rosenut" and "high gloss rosenut", "black" and "piano black".

Klimax 345 wears a heavy price tag with 3.250 Euros on it. No wonder Linn high quality
acoustics will satisfy even the most exigent pretensions, but mind you that quality of the track itself is a half of the deal. Practically it means that format of the track has to be chosen carefully. MP3 usually doesn't have very good quality, try to choose lossless formats
