Shooter games improve the eyesight

Shooter games may be an excellent tool for improving eyesight! This conclusion was made by Nature Neuroscience journal with support of the University of Rochester. So start up your gaming machine and kill those bad guys!

Playing action-based
video games improved the contrast sensitivity function (CSF) in test subject. It is one of the most easily damaged functions of the human eye. If you can’t see the spots on your clothing or it’s hard for you to see at night-be careful, your CSF is damaged.

Research was based on three groups of players. One group played Atari’s Unreal Tournament or Activision’s Call of Duty 2, while another group played The Sims 2.Both groups had 50 hours of gaming time over nine weeks. Result was amazing. Participants in the action group had noticeably improved their CSF.

Another study published by the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics shows the bad side of “excessive” gaming. According to their research sleep patterns, as well as verbal and cognitive abilities diminished in children. Also action-based video games can cause obesity, drug abuse and general poor health.

So not all video games can induce noticeable benefits. Be careful and remember that only doctor can tell you which games can improve your eyesight.
