A luxury automaker Tesla Motors surprised driver with 50000 USD electric sedan.It’s name is Tesla Model S.Out of touch with economic reality this Thursday was started manufacture of a prototype. Its production is started at the SpaceX rocket factory run by Tesla chief executive Elon Musk. Model S is a spacious car with a place for five adults and two children andtravels 300 miles on a fully charged battery.
The problem with recharge is solved well.The vehicle carries its own charger, so the car can be recharged on the road from a 120-volt household outlet. Approach 240-volt and 480-volt outlets. According to Tesla, Model S can be recharged in 45 minutes.
Other luxury car done by Tesla is Roadster. It is a two-seater with an eye-popping sticker price of 109000 USD. In comparison, the Model S can be bought at a starting price of 57400 USD. Tesla is quick to point out that the car is eligible for 7500 USD tax credit for being all electric powered.
In the meantime, Tesla is taking orders for the Model S and plans to start production in late 2011.He is banking on receiving 350 million USD in federal loans to build the Model S assembly plant in California. Now there more then 300 Roadsters sold and has orders for nearly a thousand more. This luxury sports car, which gets 244 miles on charge and goes from zero to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, is the only highway-legal all-electric car in the USA, but it’s built in England.
